By Sea and Air
City Moving & Storage can provide you with both sea and air freight options. Sea is usually cheaper, particularly for larger moves; however, for anything needing to be shipped quickly, air freight is an excellent solution.
Sole use Shipping Containers
A larger move often means that you will have your belongings placed into your own dedicated shipping container. We will advise you on the size of the container best suited to your needs, and our fully inclusive quote will include the container shipping costs.
Shared Shipping Containers
For smaller shipments, we may recommend you have a shared container, as this can provide excellent cost savings. We simply group several shipments into the same container, and you only pay for the space you use. Simple but effective!
Airfreight
If you have a small shipment or need some things to be shipped urgently then air freight provides a great solution. Transit times are typically 7 to 21 days by air which is much quicker than by sea.
What happens at the destination?
Our overseas partners have been carefully selected to ensure everything runs smoothly when your shipment arrives at its destination. They will expertly guide you through and help take care of all the local customs clearance formalities required to allow your shipment into the country.
Delivery to your new home
After the customs clearance is complete, our agents will arrange a convenient date with you for the delivery. They will unpack boxes onto open surfaces and place furniture exactly where you ask them to within your new home. The crew will remove all packing materials for recycling and disposal before they leave your residence.
Storage
Sometimes, when you move the dates simply refuse to match up! If you need storage in the UK or overseas, that’s no problem. We can provide either short-term or long-term storage at highly competitive rates.
